Bucknell Women's Rowing Hosts a Successful Pennsylvania State Sculling Championships for Second Straight Year

SHAMOKIN DAM, Pa. (Susquehanna River) - The Bucknell women's rowing team hosted the Pennsylvania State Sculling Championships for the second straight year this past Sunday on the Susquehanna River. The Bison won all three events, competing against the Central Pennsylvania Rowing Association (CPRA).
Freshman Adrian Edmonds won the singles event in 21 minutes, 43 seconds as Bucknell had five of the six entrants and claimed the first five spots. Fellow freshman Stasia Schlatter took second in 21:53, while sophomore Joanna Freeman (22:13) rounded out the top three. Two other Bison rookies - Sarah Coppock-Pector and Kendra Raymond - finished fourth and fifth, respectively. CPRA member Carol Graybeal rounded out the list of finishers in the singles races.
In the quads, Bucknell, which had four of the five boats entered in the boat, swept the top four positions. The four Bison squads were separated by less than a minute.
The Bison also claimed victory in the eights race, finishing in 17:37, 25 seconds ahead of CPRA and nearly four minutes faster than third-place Naiades.
Bucknell is expected to compete just one more time this fall at the Head of the Schuylkill Oct. 24-25.
