ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Katie Jurenovich (Warren, Ohio/Howland), Minjoo Lee (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) and Brittany Rendell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) all carded rounds of 80 for the Bucknell women's golf team, and the Bison shot 324 Sunday to finish in 12th place at the rain-shortened Wolverine Invitational at the University of Michigan Golf Course.
Bison head coach Kevin Jamieson was pleased with the team's performance against a difficult field, particularly with three freshmen in the lineup on a long and challenging course that played even longer after a full day of rain that washed out Saturday's scheduled 36 holes of play.
Leah Antkiewicz (Aliquippa, Pa./Quigley Catholic) and Kelsey Meybin both shot 84 for Bucknell, which edged Oakland University by two strokes.
Michigan shot 293 to win the event by 11 shots over Big Ten rival Minnesota (304). Eastern Michigan was third at 305, followed by Illinois State (307), Toledo (316), Kennesaw State (317), Ferris State (318), SMU (319), Eastern Kentucky (320), Detroit (321), Indiana State (321), Bucknell (324) and Oakland (326).
Ashley Bauer of Michigan shot a 3-under-par 68 to win the individual trophy by three strokes over Minnesota's Kelli Berns.
Bucknell also sent four players to compete in the Penn State Invitational over the weekend. Deirdre Moran (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) was the team's top finisher. She posted rounds of 78-83-83.
The Bison will be back in action on Oct. 10-11 at the Rutgers Invitational.
