Bucknell-Penn State Men's Soccer Game to Air on Big Ten Network

LEWISBURG, Pa. – For the second year in a row, the Bucknell men's soccer team will have a regular-season match nationally televised, this time on the Big Ten Network when the Bison take on Penn State on Sunday, Sept. 7 at Jeffrey Field in State College.
The Bison and Nittany Lions square off at 3:30 p.m. in the second game of a live televised doubleheader as part of the Penn State Classic tournament. In the earlier game, Ohio State will take on Tulsa at noon.
Dean Linke, who called the Bucknell-Lehigh game for the Fox Soccer Channel at Varsity Soccer Field last season, will handle the play-by-play duties.
Reaching more than 55 million homes, the Big Ten Network is available on many cable systems throughout the United States, and it is carried by DirecTV on channel 610 and Dish Network on channel 439. In the Lewisburg and surrounding areas, D&E Communications digital cable customers can find the Big Ten Network on channel 206.

The Bucknell men's soccer team opens its 2008 season this weekend with contests on Friday at Buffalo and Sunday at Canisius. At the Penn State Classic, the Bison will take on Ohio State on Friday, Sept. 5 at 5 p.m., followed by the televised game against the host Nittany Lions two days later.
Bucknell and Penn State have not met since the 2006 season, when PSU prevailed 3-1 in State College.
Penn State was 7-8-4 last season, while Bucknell finished 9-5-5. Both teams lost in their respective conference tournaments on penalty kicks.
