Greetings Bison fans, and welcome to the new and improved BucknellBison.com - the official Web site of Bucknell Athletics. No need to adjust your monitors ... even though the site looks drastically different, all of the Bucknell information that you have become familiar with through the years is still here, and plenty of new features are on the way!
Why the change? Well, there are a few reasons. For one, it was time for a new look. BucknellBison.com had the same appearance for about eight years. The new design more prominently displays Bucknell's pride in the Orange and Blue color scheme, and the significant increase in the size of the lead photographs we hope will make for a much more appealing design.
Second, the University's Web site (www.Bucknell.edu) is undergoing a simultaneous redesign, and that site will launch in a few weeks. With the same design firm - FastSpot - collaborating on both the athletics and University redesigns, both sites will have similar feels. More importantly, navigation from one site to the other has been made easier. Note at the top of the new athletics page the links to some key areas on the Bucknell.edu site.
The most obvious of the new features on BucknellBison.com is the video player on the right side of main page (as well as each sport page). Throughout the year, Bison Vision viewers will have access to live gamecasts, postgame interviews and other features from Bucknell coaches and student-athletes. We hope you will enjoy our initial interview segments with new head men's basketball coach Dave Paulsen and football coach Tim Landis. Stay tuned for more preseason interviews throughout the month, including an introduction to new field hockey coach Jeremy Cook.
Every home football, men's basketball and women's basketball game will be shown live on Bison Vision. In addition, most of Bucknell's other sports will have at least two home games broadcast on Bison Vision. The first live event will be the football season opener against Duquesne on Sept. 6, followed by the women's soccer home game against Temple on Sept. 19. Bison Vision subscriptions are available for $79.95 per year or $9.95 per month. For a limited time, a 20% discount is being offered on the annual subscription.
In the weeks and months ahead, look for even more new features, including a photo store, online auctions and even a blog written by everyone's favorite mascot, Bucky Bison.
Bucknell is also pleased to remain partners with the CBS College Sports Network (formerly CSTV), which will continue to serve as our online hosts.
Finally, we want to know what you think of the new BucknellBison.com. Please take some time to peruse the new format, and use the "feedback" link at the bottom of the page to offer any suggestions.
GO BISON!
