LEWISBURG, Pa. - Amanda Faust (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West), Steph Graf (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East), Megan Krebs (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./GAR Memorial) and Corinne Raczek (Ocean Township, N.J./Ocean Township HS) of the Bucknell field hockey team were recently selected to represent Pennsylvania on its High Performance Squad.
The seven High Performance Training Centers across the United States serve to identify and train potential National Team athletes, of college-age or older. Faust, Graf, Krebs and Raczek will join other elite field hockey players to comprise a Pennsylvania squad of 33 athletes under the direction of Char Morett, head coach of Penn State University. Assisting Morett will be Syracuse assistant coach Guy Cathro, Lafayette head coach Andrew Griffiths and Bucknell head coach Heather Lewis.
"I'm so pleased for our athletes who have been selected to the Pennsylvania High Performance squad. It's a testament to their talent and passion for the sport of field hockey," said Coach Lewis. "This is the first time in program history we've had athletes tryout and be selected for this training squad. I think it's a really good indication that the future of Bison field hockey is very promising. The four young women represent a solid nucleus of returning players who will work extremely hard to win this program's first-ever Patriot League title in 2008."
