Bison Men's Golf in Eighth at Lafayette Invitational

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Stuart Lindgren (Richfield, Minn./Richfield) shot an even-par 72 and the Bucknell men's golf team shot 303 in the first round of the Lafayette Invitational on Saturday at Center Valley Golf Club. The Bison are in eighth place in a 25-team field and first among the four competing Patriot League teams.
Lindgren is tied for seventh individually, two shots out of the lead. Rahul Desai (Avon, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) and Keita Aoki (Tokyo, Japan/St. Mary's International School) both shot 75 for Bucknell, but Andrew Cohen (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) shot 81 and Ben Mattingly (Fishers, Ind./Park Tudor) took an 83.
Drexel compiled a 1-over 289 and has a seven-stroke lead over Duquesne. Delaware shot 301, and Hofstra, Siena, Fairleigh Dickinson and Saint Francis (Pa.) all finished at 302, one better than Bucknell.
Other Patriot League teams competing are Lehigh (306), Colgate (306) and host Lafayette (308).
Siena's Dan Abbondandolo and Duquesne's Brendan Madden are tied for the individual lead at 2-under.
The 36-hole event wraps up on Sunday.
