Bucknell Women's Rowing Opens Spring Season with Strong Scrimmage vs. Boston College

ELBERTON, Ga. (Lake Russell) - The Bucknell women's rowing team began its Spring Break competition with a scrimmage against Boston College on Thursday and had a solid showing. The varsity eight posted victories in all three of its races against the Eagles, while the first freshman novice eight posted two wins in its three races.
The varsity eight of Jeweliet Yost (coxswain), Caitlin Doolin (stroke), Jennie Trayes (7), Katherine Brewster-Duffy (6), Victoria Dudley (5), Sophie Bird (4), Page Kannor (3), Olivia Knodt (2) and Whittney Henry (bow) swept all three races against Boston College.
The first freshman novice eight won two of the three events opposite Boston College, finishing second in the third. The second freshman novice eight placed third in each of those races.
The first freshman novice eight consisted of Gina DiDomenico (coxswain), Taylor Jordan (stroke), Stephanie Frank (7), Anna Johnson (6), Emily Gadsden (5), Christina Cabiati (4), Allison Martens (3), Allegra Colandro (2) and Elizabeth Barnett (bow).
Robyn Roogow (coxswain), Emily Fry (stroke), Cherith Elliott (7), Sarah O'Laughlin (6), Brianna Clarke (5), Megan Long (4), Betsy O'Leary (3), Lindsay Cover (2) and Caitlyn Oster (bow) were the members of the second freshman novice eight.
"All of our rowers did a good job staying focused and rowing good races," commented Bucknell head coach Stephen Kish following the first event of the spring season.
Official times for the races were unavailable.
Bucknell, which will spend Spring Break training at Lake Russell in Georgia, will next face George Mason on Saturday.
