LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell head football coach Tim Landis has announced the hiring of Bill McCord to the Bison coaching staff. McCord, who was an assistant coach at Franklin & Marshall last season, will work with the Bucknell cornerbacks.
McCord is a 2005 graduate of Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Conn., where he was a four-year letterman and starting cornerback. He spent one season as an assistant coach at Western Connecticut State, then served as an assistant football and baseball coach at Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin, N.J.
Last July, McCord was hired at Franklin & Marshall, where he coached the Diplomats' cornerbacks and safeties and recruited in the New York City area.
At Bucknell, McCord will work with a cornerback unit that was the youngest in the Patriot League last season. The Bison started a pair of sophomores in Jason Davis and Brandon Simmons, backed up by two freshmen in Marlon Woods and Jamal Briggs.
