LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell men's soccer star Conor O'Brien (Mt. Sinai, N.Y./St. Anthony's) was named to the NSCAA/adidas All-Mid-Atlantic Second Team on Wednesday. O'Brien, who led the Patriot League in points (22) and assists (8) and ranked second in goals (7), was named to the second team for the second straight season.
The Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-Patriot League selection, O'Brien was a team co-captain and was named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List prior to the start of the 2008 campaign.
O'Brien registered at least one point in 13 of Bucknell's 19 games this past season. He had a six-game scoring streak early in the year, which was tied for the fourth-longest in program history. He also finished the season on a five-game scoring streak, including a big two-goal game in a must-win over Lehigh in the second-to-last game of the regular season. O'Brien started all 19 games this past fall and has started all 61 in his career so far.
With O'Brien, who ranks seventh on the program's career assist list with 16, the lone selection, Bucknell did not have multiple players recognized on the all-region teams for the first time since 2001.
O'Brien helped the Bison to an 8-8-3 record and a fifth-place showing in the final Patriot League standings in 2008.
