Bucknell's Jeffrey Manning Named Patriot League Male Diver of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell senior Jeffrey Manning (Bringhurst, Ind./Carroll Jr./Sr. High) was named Patriot League Male Diver of the Week, on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Manning won both the one-meter and three-meter dives in a dual meet against Duquesne on Saturday.
Manning scored 236.92 in the one-meter event and 235.43 in the three-meter dive. The three-time letterwinner and Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member, also has had the top scores in both diving events against UMBC and Boston College this season. Manning scored in the three-meter dive at the Patriot League Championships in 2007 and 2008 and the one-meter event in 2008.
The senior received weekly honors from the Patriot League before, winning male diver of the week on Feb. 6, 2007. Manning, a double major in education and sociology, also received ECAC Male Diver of the Week that day, for his performance that previous weekend at the Bucknell Invitational. It was at that meet that Manning posted the second best diving score in program history in the one-meter dive (six optionals), posting a 270.90. Manning also has the second best score in three-meter diving, a 298.35, that he posted earlier this calendar year.
The Bucknell swimming & diving teams next compete on Saturday, Nov. 8, hosting American, Lafayette and Navy at Kinney Natatorium.
