NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Bucknell men's tennis players Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon) and Anton Kovic (Montreal, Quebec/Milton Academy (Mass.)) competed in doubles play at the Wilson/ITA Northeast Regional Championships held at Yale University in New Haven, Conn., on Saturday, Oct. 18. A day after winning a first round match against a team from St. John's (N.Y.), the duo lost to Pennsylvania's Hicham Laalej and Phil Law, 8-6, in the second round.
Sandburg and Kovic have compiled a 7-4 record in doubles play so far this year. Sandburg's overall record during the 2008 fall season is 16-8, while Kovic has an 8-7 mark.
The Bucknell men's tennis team is not scheduled to compete again until Jan. 24, 2009, when it will square-off against Boston University and Brown, in Providence, R.I. Those will be the first two dual matches for the Bison during the 2008-2009 year.
