LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell senior goalkeeper Joey Kuterbach (Kingwood, Texas/Kingwood) became the first Bison men's soccer player honored by the Patriot League this year when he was named Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday. The co-captain posted two shutouts in Bucknell's three games last week.
Kuterbach recorded nine saves as he helped the Bison to a 2-0-1 record last week with wins over Rider and Niagara. The starter in 31 consecutive games, Kuterbach posted a 0.62 goals-against average and a .818 save percentage in the three matches.
With his two shutouts last week, Kuterbach brought his season total to three and his career ledger to 13. He ranks fifth on the Bison career list, just two behind fourth-place Kevin Meyer.
Overall this year, Kuterbach has a goals-against average of 0.86 and has 27 saves to rank third in the Patriot League. He is just 12 stops shy of 200 in his career.
Kuterbach will help lead the Bison into Patriot League play this week as they travel to Annapolis, Md., on Saturday, Sept. 29, to take on Navy.
