LEWISBURG, Pa. - Sophomore Megan Krebs (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.) and sophomore Diana Bartley (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) of the Bucknell field hockey team were honored by the Patriot League on Monday as Offensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively. The Bison played two games this past week, recording a 6-2 loss against Lock Haven last Tuesday and a 1-0 win over La Salle in overtime on Friday.
Krebs posted four points last week, notching a goal against Lock Haven, and netting the game-winning score against La Salle in the extra period. Friday night, Krebs put the Bison ahead of La Salle in overtime, 1-0, after a scoreless 70 minutes. The tally, coming off a crossing pass from junior Amanda Faust (Kingston, Pa./ Wyoming Valley West) with under a minute left in the extra period, secured Bucknell's first shutout of the season and marked Krebs' fifth goal of the year.
In Tuesday's match-up against Lock Haven, Krebs put the Bison back into the game from a 2-0 deficit with her fourth goal of the season. She scored off an assist from freshman Christine Weiss (Bethlehem, Pa./Southern Lehigh) 19:24 into the contest. Krebs' tally was the first of two for Bucknell in the contest.
On the season, Krebs is Bucknell's top scorer with five goals and leads the Bison with 13 points (5g, 3a). She has posted two game-winning goals, in the 4-3 victory over Towson, and in the 1-0 victory over La Salle. Krebs holds a shot percentage of .357, recording five goals off 14 shots.
