LEWISBURG, Pa. - Sophomore Megan Krebs (Wilkes Barre, Pa./GAR Memorial) and Senior Kelly Hoffman (Boyertown, Pa./Oley Valley) posted goals for the Bucknell field hockey team in Tuesday's 6-2 loss against Lock Haven at Graham Field, bringing the Bison to 3-3 on the year.
The Eagles, now 3-3, took the lead in the first half with a goal 8:15 into play by Renee Kemmerer with a hard shot from the top of the circle. Lock Haven scored again at the 10:41 mark when Blair Wynne netted the ball off a corner.
Krebs put the Bison back into the game with her fourth goal of the season, when she scored off an assist from freshman Christine Weiss (Bethlehem, Pa./Southern Lehigh) 19:24 into the contest, bringing the score to 2-1. The Eagles then rallied for three goals before the close of the half.
Just over five minutes into the second period, Hoffman scored off a rebound from a penalty corner for her fourth goal of the season. In the 53rd minute, however, the Eagles posted one more tally from Megan Albert, unassisted.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jessie Atieh (North Caldwell, N.J.) made four saves for the Bison off 10 opponent shots on goal. For the Lock Haven, goalkeeper Erin Terreson made three saves.
This Friday the Bucknell field hockey team will play the second of four consecutive games at home when it hosts La Salle at 6 p.m.
