LEWISBURG, Pa. - Two members of the Bucknell women's soccer team were honored for their performances last week as sophomore Kathryn Sutton (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville Area) was named the Patriot League BRINE Goalkeeper of the Week and freshman Christa Matlack (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) collected Rookie of the Week honors, the league office announced on Monday.

Against No. 12 Rutgers last Wednesday, Sutton made a career-high 10 saves in the 2-1 setback. Then on Sunday at home against UMBC, she recorded her second win of the season and turned aside five shots as the Bison defeated the Retrievers, 5-1. Sutton has been in net for all 360 minutes of Bucknell's contests so far on the year and currently holds a 1.50 goals against average, a .800 save percentage and has one shutout to her credit.
Matlack scored three times last week for six points. Her first came against Rutgers in the 57th minute to give the Bison a 1-0 lead in the contest with her first collegiate tally. She added two more versus UMBC, putting Bucknell in front, 1-0 in the 13th minute and later adding what would be the game winner at 52:22. Matlack's three goals ties her with junior Jennifer Dervarics (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) for the team lead in that category.
The Bison, who are currently 2-2 on the season, will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 12, with a home contest against Saint Francis (Pa.) on Varsity Soccer Field beginning at 7 p.m. The game will be the 300th in the program's history.
