Bucknell Field Hockey Faces Lock Haven At Home Tuesday

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell field hockey team is set to host the Lock Haven Eagles at Graham Field Tuesday night. The Bison are coming off a two-game week that brought a 4-3 win against Towson at home last Tuesday and a 4-2 loss against No. 17 Delaware on the road last Saturday. Tuesday's match-up is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Bison Field Hockey Notebook
On the Lock Haven Eagles -
- The Eagles are 2-3 on the season, and are coming off a 5-0 win over La Salle last Saturday at home.
- On the season, Lock Haven has scored 14 goals off 75 shots (.187 shot percentage), and has allowed eight goals off 36 opponent shots.
- The Eagles have scored an average of 3.47 goals a game, and have allowed an average of 1.98 opponent goals a game in five match-ups this season.
- Senior Blair Wynne leads Lock Haven with seven points (3g, 1a), followed by freshman Amy Hordendorf (3g), sophomore Suzanne Hobart (3g), and senior Samantha Stoyer (1g, 4a), each with six points on the year.
- Wynne, Hordendorf, and Hobart are tied as the Eagles' leading scorers in 2007, with three goals each.
- Sophomore Megan Albert has the highest shot percentage (.400; two goals off five shots) on the year.
- Redshirt junior goalkeeper Ali Harris, and freshman goalkeeper Erin Terreson have split time this season, with Harris playing 285:09 and Terreson playing 78:19.
- In five games, Harris has made 17 saves, allowed an average of 2.52 goals a game, and has posted a save percentage of .680. Terreson has yet to record a save this season, and has not allowed any opponent goals.
- Last season, Lock Haven defeated the Bison, 6-0 on Sept. 19.
On Bucknell Against No. 17 Delaware Last Saturday -
- Bucknell (3-2) fell to No. 17 Delaware (6-0), 4-2, on Saturday, Sept. 9.
- The Blue Hens put the first goal on the board at just 4:28 into play, and scored again 8:19 into the contest, bringing the score 2-0 at the half. Goals were scored by Kimmy Schlezes and Casey Howard respectively.
- The Bison held Delaware off until 42:59 when Tori Karsten connected on a feed from Missy Woodie to increase the advantage to three.
- Trailing 3-0, the Bison rallied for two consecutive goals in the second half.
- At the 54:24 mark, senior Lindsey Weller (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) netted the ball for her first of the season, off an assist from junior Sarah Herrmann (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North).
- Senior Kelly Hoffman (Boyertown, Pa./Oley Valley) added the second goal for Bucknell at 55:47 for her third of the season after receiving a pass from sophomore Megan Krebs (Wilkes Barre, Pa./GAR Memorial).
- With less than eight minutes left in the game, Delaware's Casey Howard notched the final tally.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Jessie Atieh (North Caldwell, N.J./West Essex) made eight saves for the Bison, one save shy of her career best nine saves, recorded in last Tuesday's game against Towson.
On the Bison in 2007 -
- Bucknell holds a 3-2 record on the year, with losses coming against nationally-ranked teams, then-No. 13 Ohio State, and No. 17 Delaware.
- In five games, the Bison have scored 18 goals off 63 shots (.286 shot percentage) and have allowed 17 goals off 74 opponent shots.
- Bucknell has scored an average of 3.56 goals a game, and has allowed an average of 3.36 opponent goals a game.
- Krebs leads Bucknell with nine points (3g, 3a) followed by Hoffman (3g, 1a) and junior Amanda Faust (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) (2g, 3a) with seven points each.
- Junior Jacquie Kataneksza (Harare, Zimbabwe/Arundel School), junior Trina Boyer (Macungie, Pa./Upper Periomen), Krebs, and Hoffman are tied as leading scorers for the Bison, each with three goals on the year.
- Hoffman holds the highest shot percentage for the season (1.000), scoring three goals off three shots. Weller also holds a shot percentage of 1.000, scoring one goal off one shot.
- Atieh has made 29 saves in 353:49 of play this season. She holds a save percentage of .630 and set a career-record with nine saves against Towson on Sept. 4.
Looking Ahead -
- Bucknell's game against Lock Haven will mark the first of four consecutive games at home. Following Tuesday night's contest, the Bison will host La Salle on Friday Sept. 14 at 6 p.m., Saint Francis (Pa.) on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m., and Georgetown on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 12 p.m.
