LEWISBURG, Pa. - The season opener for the Bucknell men's soccer team, slated for Friday against Northern Illinois, has been moved from Northwestern's Lakeside Field facility to Loyola-Chicago's Loyola Soccer Park. Additionally, the start of the game has changed from 3 p.m. Eastern time to 1:30 p.m. The change was caused by construction delays at Lakeside Field.
Sunday's schedule, which features Bucknell taking on No. 14 Northwestern at 3:30 p.m. (Eastern), remains unchanged and is slated for Lakeside Field.
Northwestern is hosting the Lakeside Classic for the fifth consecutive year. In addition to the Bison, Northwestern and Northern Illinois, Patriot League rival Colgate will be playing in the two-day event.
Bucknell, which won the Patriot League Tournament and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last fall, opens the 2007 campaign with five of its first six matches away from Varsity Soccer Field. Included in that stretch of games are three 2006 NCAA Tournament teams.
