LEWISBURG, Pa. - With its four-game series at Colgate this past weekend postponed, the Bucknell softball team has added a game at Bloomsburg on Tuesday, April 10, to its schedule. The Bison and Huskies will play a single game starting at 5 p.m. at Jan Hutchinson Field.
Bucknell (7-20, 1-3 Patriot League), which has been idle since splitting a doubleheader with Drexel last Wednesday, is second in the Patriot League in hitting with a .282 batting average and is third in pitching with a 3.89 ERA. Ashley Carlson (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) ranks second in the league in hitting with a .403 average, while Mary Pavlovich (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) is fifth at .326. Christie Wiest (Centre Hall, Pa./Penns Valley) stands fifth in the PL in ERA at 3.24.
Bloomsburg, which is the lone Division II team to participate in every NCAA Tournament since 1983, is 18-6 this year, including 4-0 at home. The Huskies enter Tuesday having won five of their last six games.
Bucknell will return to Patriot League play this weekend when it hosts Lehigh Saturday and Sunday, April 14-15. The 1997 Patriot League Championship team will be honored prior to Saturday's contest, while Senior Day festivities will highlight Sunday's doubleheader.
