Bucknell Women's Tennis Against Binghamton Cancelled

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Due to forecasted rainy conditions, the Bucknell women's tennis match against Binghamton scheduled for Tuesday, Apr. 17, at 3:30 p.m., has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. The Bison, 5-13 (2-2 PL) on the season, currently sit third in the Patriot League.
Sophomore Paulina Gamboa (Mexico City, Mexico/Greengates) holds a team-best eight singles victories while playing in the No. 1 and the No. 2 spots for Bucknell. She has won her last six matches in the No. 2 spot and is the only Bison to go undefeated in the Patriot League, winning all four matches this spring. Freshman Tania Varela (Quito, Ecuador/Alliance Academy) owns an impressive 7-3 record, including 4-1 at the No. 1 spot. Three of the wins have come against league opponents.
Sophomore Ashley Globerman (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown) has collected a record of 6-8 this season while playing in the No. 2 spot thru the No. 4 spot. She also has a 3-1 mark in the league. Freshman Kirstyn Sotak (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Hathaway Brown) owns a record of 5-8 record while playing in the No. 5 and No. 6 spots. In league play, she has notched a 3-1 mark.
In doubles, Varela and Globerman are 6-3 this season while playing in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Gamboa and freshman Carlin Calcaterra (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) have teamed up to tally six wins, while playing in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. The duo of Caitlin Baffa (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills) and sophomore Camille Simonetti (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) has posted a mark of 3-2 in the No. 3 spot.
The Bison will host Bloomsburg in a non-league match on Wednesday, Apr. 18, at 4:30 p.m., at the Bucknell Varsity Tennis Courts.
