
Bucknell Women's Water Polo Comes Back from 3-1 Deficit for 13-8 Victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Elizabeth Jensen (San Mateo, Calif./St. Ignatius Prep) scored a career-high five goals to lead the Bucknell women's water polo team to a 13-8 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Wednesday evening. The Bison improved to 3-0 on their spring break trip to California and are now 11-9 on the season.
Bucknell outscored Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 5-1 in the second quarter to overcome a 3-1 first-quarter deficit. The Bison have now tallied double figures in three consecutive games.
Meagan Gins (Albuquerque, N.M./Valley) tallied three goals to move into second place on Bucknell's career goals list with 164. She added two assists to equal Jensen for the team lead with five points in the contest.
Shana Palencia (Glendale, Calif./Hoover) and Aubrey Rowe (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) registered two goals apiece to round out the list of multiple-goal scorers for the Bison.
Mandy Bynum (San Jose, Cali./Leland) made seven saves and dished out two assists for Bucknell and drew to within 13 saves of the Bucknell record held by Lindsay Chesterfield.
The Bison continue their trip to California on Thursday when they play at No. 11 Loyola Marymount at 6 p.m. Eastern.
