Bucknell Women's Tennis Lose to Brown and Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - On Saturday, the Bucknell women's tennis team (1-5) dropped its third and fourth straight match to Brown, 7-0, and Rhode Island, 5-2, in Providence, R.I. Sophomore Ashley Globerman (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown High School) and freshman Renee Weissend (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) posted singles victories against the Rams.
In the Rhode Island match, Globerman recorded her win against Valerie Chacon in the No. 2 spot, 6-4, 6-4, while Weissend took down Steff Catanzano, 6-3, 6-2, in the No. 6 spot. Weissend paired with freshman Kirstyn Sotak (Beechwood, Ohio/Hathaway Brown) to beat Amanda Barletta and Emily Conant, 8-6.
The Bucknell women's tennis squad will play Stony Brook on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the West Branch Tennis Club in Williamsport, Pa., at 1 p.m.
