LEWISBURG, Pa. - The winter storm that has dumped snow and ice on much of the Northeast has forced the postponement of two Bucknell home athletic events. The Bucknell-Lafayette men's basketball game, scheduled for Wednesday evening, will be pushed back to Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Sojka Pavilion. The Patriot League Swimming & Diving Championships, a three-day event to be held this week at Kinney Natatorium, will also move back a day and will now run from Friday through Sunday.
In addition, Thursday's regularly scheduled edition of the "Bison Live!" radio program has been cancelled.
There will be limited seats available at the door for the men's basketball contest. The Sojka Pavilion ticket windows will open on Thursday at 5 p.m. for walk-up ticket sales, and tickets will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are $8 each for adults and $4 for children and seniors.
Bucknell comes in with an eight-game winning streak and is tied for first place in the Patriot League standings with a 10-1 conference record.
The Patriot League Swimming & Diving Championships will now officially get underway on Friday, with morning trials beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by finals at 6 p.m. The meet continues Saturday and Sunday, again with sessions at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The Bison women will be looking for a fifth straight league championship, while the men will be in search of their second PL crown after having won back in 2003 when the league meet was held in Kinney Natatorium for the first time. All-session tickets are $25, with a heat sheet included in the price, and will go on sale Thursday, Feb. 15. Admission prices for individual sessions have been set at $3 for trials and $5 for finals.
