LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell sophomore Rebecca Bersani (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) was named the Patriot League Female Diver of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday, marking the first weekly award earned by a member of the Bison this season.
At the two-day Bucknell Trials/Finals Invitational, Bersani set a school record for one meter, six optionals on day one, finishing first with a score of 254.90. Then on day two, she posted a personal best mark of 248.95 on the three-meter board, winning that event, as well. Her three-meter score ranks third all-time in the program's record book.
Bersani was the lone member of the Orange and Blue to win an individual event on the women's side, helping Bucknell finish third out of five teams at the meet. With 722 points, the Bison finished ahead of Binghamton (289 points) and TCNJ (109), while coming in behind Towson (1294) and James Madison (841).
Bucknell will be idle this weekend and will return to action on Friday, Nov. 30, for the opening day of the three-day Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J.
