LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell freshman wide receiver Shaun Pasternak (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) earned his second Patriot League Rookie of the Week citation of the season following the Bison's 38-24 upset of league champion Fordham on Saturday.
Pasternak was part of an offensive explosion, as the Bison rolled up a season-high 475 total yards and had four plays of 50 yards or longer. Pasternak was on the receiving end of one of those quick strikes, as his 58-yard catch in the third quarter set up a key field goal that put Bucknell ahead 24-17.
While that was Pasternak's only official catch of the day, he also drew a pass interference penalty in the end zone, resulting in a 1-yard touchdown one play later, and he had a touchdown reception of his own called back by a holding penalty.
Pasternak played in nine of the team's 11 games this season, including starts in the last four, and he finished third on the team with 13 receptions for 263 yards and two touchdowns.
Bucknell finished the season with a 3-8 record, 1-5 in the Patriot League.
