Bucknell's Ira Reibeisen Named Patriot League Player of the Month

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell senior Ira Reibeisen (Armonk, N.Y./Rye Country Day-Upper School) was tabbed as Patriot League Player of the Month for October, the league recently announced. In September, Reibeisen was named an honorable mention for the award.
Bucknell men's tennis ended the fall season with the ITA Northeast Regional Championships, Oct. 19 - 21; at the end of 2007 tournament play, Reibeisen set new school records for career combined victories (124) and career singles victories (67). He also ties junior Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon) for career doubles victories with 57 wins. Currently, Reibeisen owns a 124-97 combined career record, 67-46 singles career record and 57-49 doubles career record.
In the month of October, Reibeisen posted six wins and two losses in Flight 1 singles. He won Flight 1 singles at the Bucknell Round Robin, Oct. 5 - 7, going undefeated for the weekend. Additionally, he advanced to the third round of singles at ITA Northeast Regionals. For the entire fall season, Reibeisen posted a singles record of 10-6.
In doubles action, Reibeisen recorded five wins and two losses in October, pairing with freshman Anton Kovic (Montreal, Quebec/Milton Academy - Mass.) and sophomore Zach Hascoe (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick). He played three matches in Flight 2 at the Bucknell Round Robin and four matches in Flight 1 at the Quinnipiac Invitational. In fall tournament play, Reibeisen recorded a doubles record of 11-4, going 4-1 when paired with Hascoe and 7-3 when paired with Kovic.
The Bucknell men's tennis team is now set to prepare for the regular season, beginning Feb. 2, at home against Duquesne.
