LEWISBURG, Pa. - Sophomore Kathryn Sutton (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville Area) of the Bucknell women's soccer team was selected as the Patriot League BRINE Goalkeeper of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. The award is Sutton's second of her career after earning the accolade for the first time back on Sept. 10.
Last Friday, Oct. 5, Sutton picked up her third shutout of the season and third of her career, helping the Bison to a 1-0 victory over Navy in their Patriot League opener. Sutton made three saves in the contest and currently ranks third in the league in saves with 47, while pacing the PL in shutouts (3).
On the year, Sutton has played 909 minutes, 39 seconds over 10 games with 10 starts and holds a 1.68 goals against average and a .734 save percentage. Back on Sept. 5, she made a career-high 10 saves against then-No. 12 Rutgers, helping her garner her first career Goalkeeper of the Week honor.
Bucknell is currently 5-6-0 on the year with a 1-0 record in league play and will take to the road this weekend for two PL matches. The Bison will face Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., on Friday, Oct. 12, at 4 p.m., and will then take on Army in West Point, N.Y., on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m.
