Bucknell Field Hockey Defeated By Holy Cross, 3-2

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior Amanda Faust (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) notched two goals for the Bucknell field hockey team in a 3-2 loss against Patriot League foe Holy Cross at home on Saturday afternoon. The Bison are now 7-8 on the season and 0-4 in the Patriot League while the Crusaders move to 5-11 on the season and 2-2 in the Patriot League.
Bucknell took an early lead at just ten minutes into play when Faust netted the ball off assists by juniors Steph Graf (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East) and Emily Hutchison (Leola, Pa./Conestoga Valley) following a penalty corner.
In the 23rd minute, Holy Cross' Kim Powell scored on a penalty stroke to tie the game at 1-1. At the 26:10 mark, Lauren Colletta tallied the Crusaders' second goal of the game off a feed from Sara O'Coin following a scramble in front of the cage. Just over a minute later, Holy Cross took a 3-1 lead when Courtney Callahan took a hard shot off an assist by Coletta.

In the second half, Bucknell narrowed the Crusaders' lead to 3-2, when Faust scored her second goal of the game off assists by Graf and Hutchison following another penalty corner.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jessie Atieh (North Caldwell, N.J./West Essex) recorded six saves for the Bison while Holy Cross goalkeeper Erin Singleton made seven saves for the Crusaders.
The Bucknell field hockey team is now set to host its final two games of the season, against Penn State on Oct. 23, at 7 p.m., and against Lafayette on Oct. 27, at 1 p.m.
