Bucknell Posts Best Score in Final Round at Nittany Lion Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Kathryn Batchelor (Lawrenceville, N.J./Princeton Day School) and Katie Jurenovich (Warren, Ohio/Howland) both shot 80 in the final round and the Bucknell women's golf team posted its best score of the week on Monday at the Nittany Lion Invitational. The Bison finished up with a 326 team total and tied for 11th place with Bowling Green in a competitive 14-team field.
Jurenovich, a freshman playing in her first collegiate tournament, shot 81-84-80 across the 54-hole event and finished tied for 35th. Batchelor and Amy Loughney (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic), who shot 81 on Monday, also finished with their best rounds of the tournament. Emily Chiodo (Strasburg, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) shot 85 after posting a career-best 78 in the second round.
Princeton shot 302-302-306 and cruised to the team title by 15 shots over runner-up Maryland. Third-place Penn State (935) finished third, followed by Western Michigan (938), James Madison (954), Xavier (958), Ball State (962), William & Mary (966), Boston College (977), Ohio (982), Bucknell (989), Bowling Green (989), Rutgers (1057) and Monmouth (1068).
Laura Bavaird of Western Michigan shot 75-73-75 to win the individual title by one stroke over Princeton's Susannah Aboff.
The Bison will be back in action in two weeks at the Rutgers Scarlet Knight Invitational.
