Bucknell Men's Soccer Opens Two-Game Homestand Tuesday Against La Salle

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Coming off a 2-0 win at Navy on Saturday, the Bucknell men's soccer team returns home Tuesday to begin a two-game homestand against La Salle. The Bison and Explorers will kick off at 7 p.m. at Varsity Soccer Field.
For the second consecutive season, Bucknell enters its match with La Salle on a four-match unbeaten streak. Last year, playing at La Salle, the Bison extended their streak to five with a 1-1 tie.

Bucknell Notes
- With a 2-0 win at Navy on Saturday night, Bucknell extended its unbeaten streak to four matches. It is the first time since the end of last year's postseason run that the Bison have gone four straight games without a loss.
- Saturday night's win at Navy was the 75th of ninth-year head coach Brendan Nash's career. Nash owns a career record of 75-66-23.
- Bucknell's win over Navy was its fifth consecutive victory in its Patriot League opener. The Bison have not lost a Patriot League opener since 2002 when they fell by a 1-0 score in overtime to Holy Cross.
- Bucknell has posted three shutouts in its last four games.
- Senior goalkeeper Joey Kuterbach has recorded three shutouts in his last four games to boost his season total to four. He now has 14 in his career, just one shy of equaling Kevin Meyer for fourth place on the Bison career list. Kuterbach also has 30 saves and a 0.77 goals-against average this season.
- Senior Justin Wolf netted his third goal in four games Saturday at Navy. He leads the Bison with three goals this year, which is also a career high. Wolf, who has five goals over the last two seasons, also paces the squad with eight points.
- Through just nine games this year, Bucknell has four players with at least six points. All of last year, just three players reached that plateau. Additionally, four Bison have at least two goals, a figure only six players tallied in 2006.
About the Series with La Salle
- Bucknell and La Salle have met each of the last four years, with both teams going 1-1-2 over that span. Overall, the Bison own a 3-2-2 advantage in the series that dates to 1974. The teams tied each of the last two years, while Bucknell's last win against La Salle was in 2003.
About La Salle
- La Salle enters Tuesday's contest with a 2-4-1 record this year. The Explorers lost 4-1 to Rider, a team Bucknell defeated 3-0 last month, on Saturday. Tuesday night's game with the Bison will be the second of a four-game road trip for La Salle.
- Junior forward Kevin Lydic and freshman midfielder Ryan Richter lead La Salle in goals (3) and points (7) this year. The Explorers have been outscored by just a 13-11 margin this season.
- La Salle has used three goalies this season, with Kyle Quigley and Dan Pfeiffer earning the majority of the playing time. Quigley has started three matches, posted one shutout and has a goals-against average of 1.29. Pfeiffer has started four contests and owns a 2.18 goals-against average.

- Bucknell will continue its homestand Saturday, Oct. 6, when it hosts Holy Cross in its first Patriot League home game of the season. It will be Youth Soccer Appreciation Day at Varsity Soccer Field. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. The Bison are 7-8-2 all-time against the Crusaders.
