LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Bucknell men's basketball team spent most of the first two months of the season playing on the road, but Bison fans will have plenty to do over the next few weeks as the Orange & Blue play three of their next five games at Sojka Pavilion, beginning with Saturday's Patriot League opener against Navy.
The Bison women, who have a final non-league tuneup against Iona at home on Wednesday night, will also play Navy on Saturday at 4 p.m., with the men to follow at 7 p.m.
With classes having not yet begun for the spring semester, a limited number of tickets remain for Saturday's doubleheader. A single ticket will allow admission to both games and provides an excellent opportunity to see the Bison in action, particularly for those fans who are not season ticket holders.
The women's and men's games are just part of a full slate of festivities on Saturday. The annual men's basketball Alumni Game kicks things off at 1:15 p.m., followed by the Dirk Sojka Slam Dunk with Bison Basketball event, benefitting SUNCOM Industries.
A silent auction featuring items from professional sports teams as well as local vendors will be conducted throughout the day as part of this special event.
In addition, a halftime ceremony during the men's game will honor the 1986-87 men's basketball team, the first in Bucknell history to earn a trip to the NCAA Tournament 20 years ago.
Tickets for the doubleheader against Navy may be ordered online at www.bucknell.edu/boxoffice/ at any time, or purchased on game day after 3 p.m. at the Sojka Pavilion Ticket Office. Single game ticket prices are $8 for adults and $4 for children and seniors.
Other basketball-related functions this week are the monthly Backcourt Club Luncheon on Thursday at 11:45 a.m. at the Lewisburg Hotel, and the return of Bison Live! after a brief holiday hiatus on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at Damon's Grill in Lewisburg.
