2007 BUCKNELL FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
LEWISBURG, Pa. - Looking to continue the momentum built during one of the nation's best turnaround seasons, the Bucknell football team will face another challenging schedule in 2007. The Bison will play 11 contests next fall, including six at home.
Bucknell's 2007 season kicks off on Sept. 1 in Pittsburgh, when the Bison visit Duquesne in a rematch of last year's thrilling season opener, won by Bucknell in overtime. The home opener comes a week later when Stony Brook makes its first-ever visit to Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium for a tentative 6 p.m. kickoff.
After a return trip to Cornell on Sept. 15, the Bison play two in a row at home against Richmond (1 p.m.) and Marist (6 p.m.). Patriot League play begins on Oct. 6 when Bucknell travels to Colgate. Following an off week, the Bison have two big weekends in a row against league rivals. Oct. 20 is Homecoming, and Bucknell will host Georgetown at 1 p.m. Family Weekend is the very next week, when the Bison entertain Holy Cross.
On Nov. 3 Bucknell visits defending Patriot League champion Lafayette, then the Orange & Blue wrap up the regular season at home against Lehigh on Nov. 10 and at Fordham on Nov. 17.
After winning only once in 2005, Bucknell rebounded with an exciting 6-5 season in 2006. The five-game improvement was tied for the best in the nation at the end of the regular season, and the victory margin also equaled a school record. Coach Tim Landis' team is expected to return 15 offensive and defensive starters as well as virtually all of its key special teams personnel in 2007.
