LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell senior Katie Dry (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) was named women's soccer BRINE Goalkeeper of the Week by the Patriot League office on Monday, picking up her first league honor of her career.
Last Friday evening, Dry posted her sixth career shutout and second of the season as the Bison played to a 0-0 tie with Air Force. In the contest, she made a season-high nine saves as the Falcons outshot Bucknell by a 21-2 margin in the contest.
Just before allowing the first goal to Colorado College on Sept. 3, Dry set a new career best for consecutive shutout minutes as she held opponents scoreless for 247:30 over a four-game span that began with the team's season opener against Temple and stretched to the 12th minute mark against the Tigers this past Sunday.
So far in 2006, Dry has started all four games for the Orange and Blue and holds a 1.07 goals against average, a .846 save percentage and has made 22 saves.
The Bison will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 10, when the team will travel to University Park, Pa., to face NSCAA/adidas preseason ranked No. 3 Penn State at 7 p.m.
