Bison Women's Golf Leads Bucknell Fall Classic After Round One

LEWISBURG, Pa - The Bucknell women's golf team completed the first day of the Bucknell Fall Classic Saturday afternoon at the Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa. Senior Teri Schlang (Albany, N.Y./Stratton Mountain) led the way for the Bison as she shot a team-best 76, which tied her for the overall individual lead. Bucknell also leads the overall team competition with a score of 316, just one stroke in front of fellow Patriot League member, Lehigh.
Juniors Kathryn Batchelor (Trenton, N.J./Princeton Day) and Amy Loughney (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) stroked a 78 and 80, respectively. Batchelor is tied for sixth place overall in the classic, while Loughney stands eighth. Sophomore Deirdre Moran (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) carded an 82, which leaves her tied for 16th place, while junior Emily Chiodo (Strasburg, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) shot an 83 on the afternoon.
Behind Bucknell and Lehigh, Siena (323), Rutgers (329) and Youngstown State (333) wrapped up the top five in the classic.
Round two of the Bucknell Fall Classic will continue Sunday, Oct. 1, at the Bucknell Golf Course in Lewisburg, Pa.
