LEWISBURG, Pa. - For the third time this season, Bucknell senior Katie Dry (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) was named the Patriot League Women's Soccer BRINE Goalkeeper of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Junior Krista Lee Gentile (North Haledon, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) was recognized for her efforts, as well, as she earned an honorable mention selection. The duo helped the Bison push their winning streak to four games as the team went 2-0 last week with wins over Marist and Duquesne.
In the 2-1, come-from-behind victory over the Red Foxes last Wednesday, Dry, who has allowed more than one goal only once this season, made six saves for the Orange and Blue. Then on Sunday against the Dukes, she picked up her third shutout of the season and fifth win as she turned aside five Duquesne shots.
Gentile assisted on the game-winning goal against Marist and then went on to extend her point scoring streak to four games as she tallied two goals versus Duquesne, including the match-winner. She is currently averaging 2.75 points per game on the year after notching 11 points over four contests.
Bucknell begins Patriot League play this Saturday, Sept. 30, at home against Colgate on Varsity Soccer Field at 7 p.m.
