LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell women's soccer junior forward Krista Lee Gentile (North Haledon, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) collected a pair of weekly awards on Monday as she was named the BRINE Offensive Player of the Week by the Patriot League office and was also honored as the Damon's Bison Athlete of the Week.
In her first contest of the season, Gentile scored the game-winning goal in the 69th minute to lift Bucknell past Saint Francis (Pa.) by a 2-1 margin last Wednesday, snapping a 12-game home unbeaten streak for the Red Flash.
Gentile went on to net two goals in the Bison's 4-1 victory over Robert Morris at home this past Sunday to complete her six-point week. She scored the Orange and Blue's third and fourth tallies of the match at 46:03 and 53:25, bringing her career goals total to 21, which is tied for fifth in Bucknell history.
The Bison return to action this Wednesday, Sept. 20, when the squad will travel to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to take on Marist at 7 p.m.
