Bucknell Men's Tennis Competes On Day One In Brown Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Bucknell men's tennis team began play in the three-day Brown Invitational on Friday morning. In day one of competition, the squad managed five of seven singles victories.
In flight one, Ira Reibeisen (Armonk, N.Y./Rye Contry Day-Upper School) fell to Arjun Vaidya of Rutgers in a three-set match, 2-6, 6-4, 2-6. Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon) downed David Trudeau of Montréal, 6-7 (7-4), 6-3, 6-2. Zach Hascoe (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick) dropped Fairleigh Dickinson's Alex Bruin in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
The Bison won their last three matches with Daniel Bednarek (Haworth, N.J./Bergen) defeating Colgate's Matt McCormick, 6-2, 6-2, while Ben Young (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) was victorious over Steve Tlumacki of Assumption in a three-set match, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. Finally, Sid Makkar (Queens, N.Y./Bronx School of Science) topped Asumption's Dan Doenges in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
Due to rain at the Brown Invitational, doubles play was delayed. Play will continue on Saturday, Sept. 16.
