ECAC Recognizes Pair of Bucknell Field Hockey Players

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced Wednesday that seniors Callista Costopoulos (Shermans Dale, Pa./West Perry) and Emily Groendyke (Glen Gardner, N.J./Voorhees) earned ECAC honors.
Costopoulos took home ECAC Player of the Week after being tabbed Patriot League Player of the Week on Monday. She scored three goals and totaled six points last week while the team went 2-1. Costopoulos leads the Bison in goals with five and is tied for the team lead in points with 11. The senior forward ranks among the nation's best in goals per game (13th) and points per game (22nd).
Groendyke was tabbed ECAC Goalie of the Week after also being honored by the Patriot League on Monday. The senior goalkeeper went 2-1 last week while earning her first shutout against Longwood. Groendyke played 202:40 minutes and allowed only two goals with a .905 save percentage and 19 saves. She is also ranked seventh in the NCAA in goals against average and fifth in save percentage.
The Bison return to action on Friday, Sept. 15, against Drexel at 7 p.m. on Graham Field.
