Bucknell Field Hockey Receives Weekly Accolades

Lewisburg - The Patriot League announced that senior Emily Groendyke (Glen Gardner, N.J./Voorhees), sophomore Steph Graf (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East) and freshman Sarah Ebright (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) earned weekly honors for their performances last weekend against Robert Morris. Additionally, Katie Urosevich (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) earned a spot on the league's honorable mention list.
Groendyke earned Goalkeeper of the Week by picking up her first career win and helped the Bison to their first shutout in the 5-0 victory over the Colonials. It was also the first shutout by a Patriot League team this season.
Graf was named Defensive Player of the Week after a key defensive performance for the Orange and Blue. She helped the Bison defense hold Robert Morris without a shot. Graf also recorded two interceptions and four positive tackles.
Ebright joined her defensive teammate Graf by earning Rookie of the Week honors. She was also a key part in the shutout win over the Colonials. Ebright notched one interception and 2 positive tackles.
Finally, Urosevich earned a spot on the honorable mention list by scoring the game-winning goal for the Bison. She also recorded two positive tackles.
The Orange and Blue will be back in action Tuesday night at Saint Francis (Pa.). The start time for the game is 7 p.m.
