LEWISBURG, Pa. - Forty-three members of the Bucknell women's track and field squad were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced on Monday. The Bison had the second-highest total of honor roll members in the league behind Holy Cross with 52.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter.
Highlighting Bucknell's list of honorees were rising-senior Melanie Buczko (Butler, Pa./Butler) and rising-sophomores Gillian Nordquist (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) and Caroline Strunk (Hebron, Conn./RHAM) as the trio was among a group of 14 student-athletes from around the league who earned GPAs of 4.0 or above this spring. Buczko, a civil and environmental engineering major, was recently named to the ESPN The Magazine Track and Field All-District II second team.
Elsewhere around the league behind Holy Cross and Bucknell, Lafayette placed 22 on the Academic Honor Roll, followed by Navy with 16, American and Army with 15 each, Lehigh with 12 and Colgate with 10.
