CHERRY HILL, N.J. - After finishing second in Friday's heat to automatically advance to Saturday's Grand Final, the Bucknell women's rowing varsity lightweight eight boat posted its best-ever showing at the IRA Championship Regatta with a sixth-place showing in the Grand Final. The Bison timed in at 7 minutes, 1.02 seconds.
Bucknell's boat, which completed Friday's 2,000-meter race on the Cooper River nearly 20 seconds faster, was comprised of coxswain-Jeweliet Yost, stroke-Caitlin Doolin, 7-Whittney Henry, 6-Jessica Glenn, 5-Laura Roberts, 4-Gillian Carter, 3-Erin Henry, 2-Alexis Will and bow-Amy VanNostrand. Nearly all of Saturday's times were slower than Friday's performances.

The Bison previously had only finished as high as ninth (in 2004) at IRAs.
