Frake, Hoffman Complete 2006 Season at East Regional Championships

Senior Dan Frake (Northport, N.Y./Northport) and junior Tyler Hoffman (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) completed their 2006 outdoor track and field season on Friday afternoon at the NCAA East Regional Championships in Greensboro, N.C. The two represented Bucknell in the men's hammer throw at Irwin Belk Track.
Frake ended his career with the Bison with a throw of 174 feet, 11 inches, good enough for 21st-place out of 31 total athletes. Hoffman landed in 25th place with a toss of 165-1.
Winning the event was Spyridon Jullien of Virginia Tech with a Regional record-setting heave of 234.
Frake's best mark of the season, also a personal record, was 200-2, placing him second in the Orange and Blue record books. Hoffman also set a personal record in 2006, with a heave of 182-8, placing him fifth in the school records.
Junior Josh Kaehler will be Bucknell's final men's representative in the Regionals, competing in the javelin. Kaehler is set to throw on Saturday morning at 11.
