
Bucknell Men's Tennis Earns 6-3 Win Over Bloomsburg

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's tennis team earned a 6-3 victory Bloomsburg on Tuesday afternoon, taking two of three doubles points, per Division II rules, and four of six singles points. With the win, the Bison move to 6-11 overall, while the Huskies drop to 4-11.
Freshman Jonathan Brenner (Manhasset, N.Y./Chaminade) won his No. 2 singles match by the score of 6-4, 6-0 over Ryan Glubbo and helped the Orange and Blue pick up a point at No. 2 doubles alongside classmate Daniel Bednarek (Haworth, N.J./Bergen Catholic), defeating Andrew Slike and Justin Hertzog, 8-3.
Sophomore John Lashnits (Chappaqua, N.Y./Horace Greely) and freshman Ryan Sandburg (Orange, Calif./Canyon) were victorious in the No. 1 spot against Glubo and Daniel Phillips, 8-3, for Bucknell's other doubles point.
Besides Brenner, sophomore Ben Young (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) and freshman Sidharth Makkar (Queens, N.Y./Bronx School of Science) both earned singles wins for the Bison. Young downed Hertzog, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 3 singles and Makkar collected a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Geoff Whiteley in the No. 4 spot.
Bucknell next travels to Bethlehem, Pa., to face Patriot League foe Lehigh on Thursday, April 20, at 3 p.m.
