Altman and Kretzer First on Patriot League Swimming and Diving Class of 2006 Top-10 Lists

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell swimming and diving seniors Lectie Altman (Syracuse, N.Y./William Nottingham) and Mark Kretzer (Northport, N.Y./Harborfields) finished as the career point leaders for the women and the men for the Class of 2006 in Patriot League Championship competition.
Kretzer scored 43 points at the 2005-06 Patriot League Championships, giving him a total of 167 points in league championship competition over his four year-career, the highest total for any male senior from the eight schools in the Patriot League. Altman led the list of women's seniors with 208 career points.
At this year's league meet, Altman scored 51 points, capturing her third-career gold in the 200 back with a time of 2:00.87, winning bronze in the 100 back with a time of 57.74, and breaking her own school record in the 200 free in 1:52.74, good for fourth in the event.
Kretzer took bronze in the 200 fly at the 2005-06 Championships with a time of 1:51.90 after setting a new personal best with a time of 1:51.79 in the preliminaries, good for third in the Bucknell record books. He also finished fifth in the 100 fly with a time of 50.57 after posting a trials time in that event ranked fifth all-time in program history (50.37) and was sixth in the 100 back.
Also representing Bucknell on the Class of 2006 Top-10 on the men's side were Todd Bauer (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) in third with 154 points, William Schilling (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) in ninth with 135 points and Adam Freeman (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) in 10th with 128 points. For the women, Mary Krakowski (Erie, Pa./McDowell) was fourth with 120.5 points and Lauren Reed (South Plainfield, N.J./Mount St. Mary Academy) was sixth with 80.
The Bison women's swimming and diving team won its fourth-straight Patriot League title last month while the men finished third in team scoring in the meet.
