Bucknell Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Teams Ranked in Final CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Polls

LEWISBURG, Pa. - After successful showings at the 2006 Patriot League Championships, the Bucknell men's and women's swimming and diving teams both earned spots on the final CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major polls, which were announced on Monday.
The Bison women, who won their fourth-straight Patriot League title last month, were ranked 18th in the poll with 232.65 points, just .22 points behind St Louis in 17th, while Harvard took the top spot with 247.86 points. Bucknell was the top-ranked Patriot League team in the poll as Navy was the only other league school on the list as the Midshipmen were 23rd with 229.79 points.
On the men's side, the Bison also earned a No. 18 ranking with a score of 236.57, narrowly missing the 17th spot by .16 points. Bucknell finished third at the 2006 Patriot League Championships with 623 points, behind Army in second with 651.5 points, while Navy took the title with 853 points. Navy and Army ranked 6th and 12th, respectively and Princeton totaled 254.59 points to capture first in the poll.
The CollegeSwimming.com rankings are based on each team's best dual meet lineup as judged and submitted by participating teams. The conferences included in the Mid-Major poll are America East, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, EISL, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-America, Mid-Continent, Midwest, Mid-eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Sun Belt, Trans America and West Coast.
