LEWISBURG, Pa. - Aubrey Rowe (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) scored a game-high four goals to lead the Bucknell women's water polo team to a 5-3 victory over Maryland Friday evening at Kinney Natatorium. The Bison improved to 11-3 overall and 2-1 in CWPA Southern Division play, while the Terrapins fell to 9-4.
Rowe, who now has a team-high 42 goals this season, scored one goal in the first quarter and two in the third to help Bucknell to a 3-1 halftime lead. She added one more in the fourth after Maryland had closed the gap to just one. Amanda Nogic (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) tallied the final goal with 3:07 remaining to give the Bison a three-goal cushion, their largest of the game.
The Terps had their three goals scored by three different players with the final one coming in the final minute of play.
Mandy Bynum (San Jose, Calif./Leland) made a 10 saves, her second-highest figure of the season, in goal for Bucknell, which improved to 11-0 against unranked opponents this season.
Bucknell hosts No. 16 Princeton Saturday night at 7:15 p.m. at Kinney Natatorium. At noon, Princeton and Maryland will square off.
