Bucknell's Donald Brown Picks up Pair of Weekly Honors

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Two weeks after being named Damon's Bison Athlete of the Week, Bucknell's Donald Brown (Central Islip, N.Y./St. Thomas More Prep) picked up two more weekly honors Monday when he was again named the Damon's Bison Athlete of the Week as well as the Patriot League Men's Basketball Player of the Week. He became to first Bison to earn plaudits from the Patriot League this season as he led Bucknell to a 70-66 come-from-behind victory over Cornell last Saturday.
Brown led the Bison with 14 points, including two big buckets and the clinching free throw in the final minute against the Big Red. He chipped in a team-high five rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals as the Bison improved to 4-5 on the season.
Shooting better than 60 percent from the floor this season, Brown leads the team in scoring at 9.9 points per game. He is also pulling down 6.2 rebounds per contest to pace the squad in that category. In the last five games, Brown is 26-for-36 from the floor and is averaging 12.8 points per game over that span, during which Bucknell has posted a 4-1 record.
Bucknell continues play on the road Wednesday at Xavier. Tip off is slated for 7 p.m.
