LEWISBURG, Pa - On Monday afternoon, the Patriot League announced that sophomore defender Steph Graf (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East) and senior goalkeeper Emily Groendyke (Glen Gardner, N.J./Voorhees) copped Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively.
Graf earned the honor for the fourth time this season. The sophomore played a key part in the Bison defense as they shut out No. 18 Villanova 2-0 this past Wednesday night. Graf tallied her fifth defensive save, which ranks her first in the Patriot League. She also has four assists on the season.
Groendyke, who was named Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time this season, posted her second shutout of the year against Villanova tallying 10 saves in the match. The senior notched nine saves in the loss to Lafayette. For the week, Groendyke totaled 19 saves and owned a .904 save percentage, while ranking first in the league at a .754 on the season. Groendyke also has accumulated 89 saves with only 29 goals against her this season.
