Blue-Orange Game Leads Busy Preseason Schedule for Bison Men's Basketball

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell men's basketball coach Pat Flannery has announced that the Bison will hold a Blue vs. Orange intrasquad game on Tuesday, Oct., 31. The scrimmage is open to the public and free of charge, with tip-off slated for 7 p.m. in Sojka Pavilion.
With the start of the 2006-07 just over two weeks away, the Blue-Orange game is part of a busy week of preseason activity for the Bison.
On Friday, Nov. 3 the team will be introduced at the Bison Mania pep rally at Sojka Pavilion from 9 to 10:30 p.m. Bucknell's pep band, cheerleaders and dance teams will all perform at Bison Mania, there will be a number of fan and student-interactive contests, including a chance to make a shot for $10,000. The evening will conclude with the unveiling of the Bison men's team's 2006 Patriot League championship banner from the rafters of Sojka Pavilion.
The following night, Saturday, Nov. 4, the Bison will host Mansfield in an exhibition game at 7 p.m. This is a ticketed event, and an announcement about limited ticket availability for the general public will be made on BucknellBison.com in the evening on Friday, Nov. 3. Mansfield is coached by Rich Miller, a 1997 Bucknell graduate and a former All-Patriot League kicker and punter on the Bison football team.
On Tuesday, Nov. 7, the Bison will host their annual Tip-Off Reception at 7 p.m. at the Towne Tavern on Market Street in Lewisburg. The $5 admission fee includes food and beverages, as well as raffle tickets for basketball-related prizes. Flannery will introduce this year's team, and coaches and players will offer their thoughts on the upcoming season.
Starting on Thursday, Nov. 2, Flannery will be a regular guest on Bison Live!, the weekly Bison Athletics Radio show aired live on location from Damon's Grill, located on Route 15 and Walter Drive in Lewisburg.
Also of note, the first of four monthly Backcourt Club luncheons will be on Thursday, Dec. 7 at the Lewisburg Hotel. The remaining luncheons will be Jan. 4, Feb. 1 and March 1.
The Bison open the 2006-07 season on the road, taking on defending America East champion Albany on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. The home opener is Tuesday, Nov. 14 against Wake Forest.
