Head Coach Pat Flannery:
"Being picked as preseason favorite is a great honor and a great testament to our program, because it is a reflection of respect from our peers. We know how much talent there is around the league and how well-coached the other seven teams are. There is no such thing as an easy night in the league."
"Losing two thousand-point scorers and still being considered a favorite to win the league says a lot about our three senior captains - Donald Brown, Abe Badmus and Chris McNaughton. Knowing how much those three have put into our program, we would love nothing more than to have them go out on another high note."
"We have a chance to be a very good basketball team, but we are certainly going to rely on some younger players to step up. This is their time now. There are three or four players who are going to be in the rotation this year who haven't really been prime-time guys yet, but they are going to get a chance and we need them to be productive."
Senior forward Donald Brown:
"You never really get used to being the favorites. Our goal is not to try to defend a title, but to go out and try to win a title. We can't really pay attention to outside expectations, because when we do we usually start to force things and take ourselves out of our style game. Coach Flannery keeps up pretty well grounded."
"We have a lot of tools back and a lot of talent. Nothing comes easy in the Patriot League, though. The level of competition has improved around the league. Everyone has some type of weapon that you have to prepare for."
Senior guard Abe Badmus:
"Patriot League teams present as much of a challenge than say an Arkansas or a Kansas, because they all know us so well. There is very little we can surprise them with."
"I feel very good about this season. Practices have been very spirited and the young guys are coming along. Our only goal right now is to come prepared to work hard at the next practice. We know we have our work cut out for us, but it is very exciting thinking about our potential."
