LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's basketball game Saturday at Navy will be broadcast live in the Lewisburg area on WVBU 90.5 and over the internet through http://bucknellbison.collegesports.com/. All 14 of the Bison's regular season Patriot League games will be broadcast on WVBU, with Saturday's contest kicking off the slate. Coverage will begin at 4:45 p.m. with tip off scheduled for 5 p.m. in Annapolis, Md.
Fans wishing to listen to the Bison Sports Network broadcast via the internet can follow the link on the right-hand side of the www.BucknellBison.com front page, or log on directly to www.SportsJuice.com.
Doug Birdsong, who is in his sixth year as the "Voice of the Bison", will share the play-by-play duties with Trevor Rutledge-Leverenz. Birdsong will handle play-by-play for games that are played as part of a doubleheader with the Bison men's basketball team, including Saturday's tilt with the Mids. Rutledge-Leverenz, a 2001 Bucknell graduate who currently works at Sirius Satellite Radio in New York City, will handle play-by-play responsibilities when the women's basketball team plays at a different site than the men. Eric Thomas, a sportswriter for the Shamokin News-Item, will handle color commentary for a majority of the games.
A new feature at SportsJuice.com this season is a pay-per-view video feature. All seven of Bucknell's Patriot League home games will feature this option, which costs $7.50 per game.
The Bison men's basketball games will continue to air live on Eagle 107 (WEGH 107.3) as well as SportsJuice.com. The pre-game show for Saturday's contest at Navy begins at 1:30 p.m. with Birdsong and Doug Byerly serving as the announcers.
Bucknell's women's squad enters Patriot League play with a 6-6 record, but has lost two straight since posting a four-game winning streak in December. The Bison, who are 99-97 all-time in Patriot League play, will be aiming for their 100th PL victory. Navy, which is the only team in the Patriot League with a record above .500, owns a 7-6 record after falling to Troy in double overtime Wednesday night.
